Chicken Lifafa




  • Chicken (boneless)
  • Onion (2)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • Capsicum (medium size 1)
  • Green chillies
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Vinegar
  • Vegetable oil

For the green chutney

  • Coriander leaves
  • Garlic
  • Chillies
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Mustard oil (3tbsp)

For making the Lifafa

  • Flour
  • A pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Oil
  • Milk (4tsbp)

Take 500gms of boneless chicken and add 2tbsp of vinegar, salt, mustard oil or any cooking oil and marinate it for 15 to 20mins.

In a sauce pan, add 3tbsp of vegetable oil and heat it. Start adding diced onion and stir it for 2minutes and then add the ginger garlic paste and diced capsicum, green chillies and fry it properly. Now add salt, sugar and give it a mix. Then add 1-2tbsp of vinegar to it and stir it well.  Now add the marinated chicken in the sauce pan and cook it for another 10minutes. After the chicken gets tender, low down the flame and keep it aside.

To make the green chutney

Take some coriander leaves in a blender and add 4 to 5 garlic pieces, 3tbsp of mustard oil, salt, sugar, chillies and blend it to make a thick paste.

To make the Lifafa

For making the dough, take flour in a bowl and then add water, vegetable oil, a pinch of salt and sugar to it. To make it soft and tender add 4tbsp of milk and knead it well and keep aside for few minutes. Now make medium size round shaped parathas.

Add the green chutney and the chicken mixture inside the paratha and with the help of water seal all the sides of the paratha and cover it in a manner of an envelope (lifafa), grease all the sides with oil and fry it in a medium heat .

So, finally the Chicken Lifafa will be ready!!!
